The Reservoir Aquatic Habitat Program will be placing Mossback Safe Haven fish habitat structures into Alamo Lake on November 18th. We will plan on meeting at Main Boat Ramp Alamo State Park at 8:30 and will work most of the day until all the habitat is placed in. Hopefully finishing by 3 or 4.
Volunteers will be responsible for constructing the habitat and assisting with loading it onto our boat. The work will be fairly simple with a low energy demand. This activity will include the use of some power tools such as drills, so small children will likely not be able to participate in this event. However, we welcome teenagers all the way to seniors to come help out and see what we do. Volunteers should bring their own water, food, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, etc. Volunteers will want to wear closed toed shoes and clothes appropriate for November weather.
This event takes place at a beautiful state park with RV, cabin, and tent camping available. If you would like to camp the night before or after, contact Payson Ham at pham@azgfd.gov for free accommodations at the park.
