Who We Are
The Native Aquatic Wildlife Program is the Arizona Game and Fish Departments program dedicated the conservation and recovery of Arizona's native fish species. The program is split into three sub-programs, the Native Trout and Chub program, Gila River Basin Native Fishes Program, and Colorado River Basin Native Fishes Program.
What We Do
The Native Aquatic Wildlife Program works to conserve and protect Arizona's native aquatic species through a variety of actions. We do this primarily through stocking native fish in suitable habitat throughout their historic range, surveying native fish to monitoring their populations and habitat, and conducting habitat restoration projects.
