On Friday May 23th we are asking for help building Georgia Cubes to install at Chapparal Lake, one of our Community Fishing waters. These structures act as a fish attractor to increase angler success. Our community fishing waters are very important to lots of residents who may not have the time to head up to Arizona's reservoirs and are heavily utilized.
We will be meeting at the parking lot on the East side (enter the park on the south side off Chaparral Road) by the boat ramp at 9 AM on May 23rd 2025 before heading over to the work area. Wear clothes appropriate for the temperature and things you don't mind getting ruined by PVC glue. Water will be provided but bring a lunch or snacks as well. We will work until around 3 or when we've finished placing habitat in the lake, whichever comes first.
We will be working with some power tools, safety equipment will be provided but if you have a favorite pair of gloves or safety glasses you'd like to bring that would be great.
The photos below are from our recent install at Roadrunner Park in Central Phoenix, we will be building similar habitat for this project.
