By taking down this fence, we will allow wildlife to safely access the springs and move freely through the landscape once again. The project is scheduled for October 4th and will take place on-site at Lockwood Springs in the Coconino National Forest, Mogollon Rim Ranger District.
Volunteers will meet at the Mogollon Rim Ranger District Office at 8am. Once everyone arrives, we will group up and carpool as close to the springs as we can, then hike in. Be sure to wear long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. If you have your own safety gloves, please bring them with you - otherwise we will provide you a pair. Don’t forget water, snacks, sunscreen, and lunch!
This is a hands-on opportunity to make a direct impact on habitat restoration efforts in a beautiful forest setting. If you are ready to roll up your sleeves and help restore Lockwood Springs, we encourage you to sign up!
