Hi All!
We need additional help at Roosevelt Lake to finish installing some donated Christmas Trees. The Apache build has been rescheduled to Saturday only. If you're willing to attend and help us launch some Christmas trees in Roosevelt, please stay signed up on this entry. If you're no longer interested you can un-register for the event.
9AM Friday 1/17/2024 at Windy Hill Recreation Site (Ringtail Boat Ramp)
We will be tying trees to cinderblocks and loading them up on Department pontoons to distribute around the lake. Volunteers will be able to help build and deploy trees. We will provide some gloves, for those that need them, along with the habitat supplies to get the trees ready to deploy.
Volunteers should bring their own water, food, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, etc. Volunteers will want to wear closed toed shoes and clothes appropriate for January weather. If you have any questions feel free to email Lacey Schmitt at LSchmitt@azgfd.gov or Nathan Bailey at NBailey@azgfd.gov.
To get to Ringtail Boatramp, please google map windy hill recreation site OR make your way to the north end of the parking lot of the open (bobcat) boat ramp. At the north exit, you'll take a right, go through a gate and take your next right.
The Arizona Game and Fish Department will be placing Mossback Safe Haven and Georgia Cube fish habitat structures into Apache Lake on Friday and Saturday January 26th-27th. We will plan on meeting at Burnt Corral Boat Ramp at 9AM and will work most of the day until all the habitat is placed in. Hopefully finishing by 2 or 3PM. There are separate registrations for each day, please sign up for both, or the specific day you wish to help on.
Volunteers will be constructing habitat and assisting with loading it onto Department boats for install. This activity will include the use of some power tools such as drills, so small children will likely not be able to participate in this event. However, we welcome ages 10+ to come help out and see what we do.
