Description

Looking for someone with basic fishing experience to assist with hands-on, public, learn how to fish event, for up to 30 participants. 

Help is needed in the following areas to assure the event runs smoothly and participants have a positive experience, such as:

  • Event setup
  • Loading and unloading of equipment, signage, handouts, materials
  • Check out fishing equipment
  • Prepare baits
  • Prepare rods, reels, tackle, baits for use
  • Provide basic fishing instruction - equipment operation & use, casting, retrieving, catching
  • Safe use of equipment - safe casting, near others
  • Fish handling, catch and release methods
  • Fish identification
  • General support under the direction of the Fishing Coordinator or other Department staff

After event, volunteers are welcome to fish & mingle and enjoy themselves.
