Looking for someone with basic fishing experience to assist with hands-on, public, learn how to fish event, for up to 30 participants.
Help is needed in the following areas to assure the event runs smoothly and participants have a positive experience, such as:
- Event setup
- Loading and unloading of equipment, signage, handouts, materials
- Check out fishing equipment
- Prepare baits
- Prepare rods, reels, tackle, baits for use
- Provide basic fishing instruction - equipment operation & use, casting, retrieving, catching
- Safe use of equipment - safe casting, near others
- Fish handling, catch and release methods
- Fish identification
- General support under the direction of the Fishing Coordinator or other Department staff
After event, volunteers are welcome to fish & mingle and enjoy themselves.
