The Arizona Game and Fish Department's Native Trout and Chub program will be stocking 535 5" Gila Trout into KP Creek at 9am on Tuesday, June 18th. Please arrive/ be ready around 8:30am to stage the buckets. Volunteers will need to bring their own day pack with food, water, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, etc. A small cooler or small backpack will work well. Buckets and frame packs for backpacking fish into KP Creek will be provided. We will also provide straps so that volunteers can strap their day packs/ coolers to their buckets. Please be aware that this will be HARD WORK. Frame packs with buckets and personal gear can weigh 50lbs. or more depending on the personal gear you bring. Please dress appropriately for the work. Light weight hiking pants are recommended as are hiking boots. If you don't have hiking boots, athletic shoes will work fine. Vans shoes are not recommended. Denim jeans are also not recommended.
We will be staging the stocking truck and the buckets at KP Cienega Campground. Volunteers can either arrive the day of the stocking or camp out at the campground the night before. We look forward to seeing you all at the stocking!
